Add and remove invoice items

To add an invoice item:

  1. Start by selecting an invoice. Create a new invoice if you do not have an invoice.
  2. There are three types of items that can be added to an invoice: goods, services, and flat fee items. Each item type has its own section within the invoice and corresponding control for adding an item of that type. Below we see a screenshot of each item type section and corresponding control.

  3. Clicking on one of the green controls will add a new row within the corresponding section. Below we see a screenshot of a row added for each item type.

  4. The type of information that can be recorded for an item is tailored to its type. Goods have a name, unit cost, and quantities purchased. Services have a name, hourly rate, and hours worked. Flat fee items have a name and cost. All costs uses your Mac's currency system setting. You do not type in the currency. To find out what currency setting your Mac uses, go to  > System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats. The "Numbers" section will provide you with the relevant details.
  5. Subtotal costs are calculated automatically when you have finished editing the item's details.
  6. Save your changes by clicking on the 'Save' button on the toolbar or by using the ⌘S keyboard shortcut.

To remove an invoice item, click on the red "X" situated to the left of the item you want to remove.
